so, this is a fashion blog for all intents and purposes;
however, the chic factor is increased by good sustenance.
there is a nexus between fashion and food.
many women have an unhealthy relationship with food.
[afraid to gain weight; afraid to indulge; indulging too much]
if you have an unhealthy relationship with food, you likely have an unhealthy relationship with your body.
unhealthy body image = fashion phobia.
it's time we shed those fears.

i am not a chef. in the holt household, things are thrown together by either of us.

sometimes a recipe. sometimes an experiment. sometimes a giant flop.
disclaimer 2:
not all recipes will be healthy options. i, for one, am a sweets-eater and a carb-craver.

that being said, i get really jazzed when i find healthy options that i love.
so, i will share the good, the bad, and the ugly with you once a week in the new feature -
chic eats.
meet my "tide-me-over" smoothie
[heavy enough to be a meal replacement]
1. chia seeds (whole foods); 2. slivered almonds; 3. quaker old fashioned oats; 4. coconut milk [insert your favorite milk or yogurt]; 5.peanut butter [usually use smart balance creamy] 6. frozen strawberries
*optional: your sweetener of choice.
here's the thing. i don't actually measure anything with my smoothies.
that's the beauty of smoothies - u can guess + test + revise according to your taste buds
or dietary needs.
here is the smoothie, complete with a real strawberry & cool whip
[to give me the illusion of indulgence].
