Less than 3 Weeks until Wedding!

October 2014

You remember that one time it was March, and I posted about how I got engaged on my birthday? Well, a month later I got a dress (in under an hour pretty much). Summer came and is on its way out. I blogged about it being August, and now I'm sitting on August's last week. It amazes me all the time how time flies with some things and not others. This engagement has flown! Things like "waiting for cold weather" or "waiting for Grizzlies season" tend to take forever!

Halloween 2014

It is hard to believe that in less than three weeks, people will start trickling into town and the celebrations will begin! Recall a blog from a while ago about how I was motivated to get fit for the wedding and my reunion (coming up this weekend). Suffice to say, I am not feeling particularly fit. I'll get into that later. I am trying not to rush these next few weeks, so that I can savor every little thing that happens like getting nails done with your friends or trying a hairstyle out with an Etsy purchase you hope works (thanks, Monica!)

Not to get too cheesy, but I am thankful for second chances at happiness. No one ever anticipates that they won't get it right the first time, and that can come with lots of guilt. That being said, there is no luckier feeling that you've been graced with the opportunity for a lasting relationship with someone with whom you feel truly compatible. If you know us, you know we break into song at random times (and potentially inappropriate times). We can debrief trash television for hours. Or we can walk our dog downtown and discuss the deepest mysteries of the universe. I have never felt more confident about something in my life, and that is a refreshing thing! Here's to the home stretch!
