The Packaging
I love trying out new products, but I had to read a lot of reviews before I bit the bullet for a $69 jar of GLAMGLOW SUPERMUD. In true Sephora VIB fashion, it shipped in less than 48 hours and I was up early Thursday morning trying it out.
Before
The first way in which they tried to convince me this was a good purchase was to pay me a compliment upon opening the box. Thanks, GLAMGLOW, I needed that this morning when I was feeling quite the opposite of sexy. Pretty sure I was rocking some spit-up on my shirt.
During
Basically, the directions tell you to apply a thin layer on your face and allow to stay on anywhere from 5-20 minutes. I wanted to watch more of The Today Show, so I opted for 20 minutes. It goes on dark gray and lightens up to this color when it dries. I rinsed it off with a warm wash cloth. I definitely noticed a smoother look than before. If you happen to battle blackheads on your nose (ugh, my nemesis) this mask attacks those! One thing I did find is that my skin was a bit dry and tight feeling afterward until I applied my normal moisturizer. Then it was perfect. I even opted to go without make up today because I was feeling so good about my skin!
After
Immediately after, I felt like I could see results in how my skin looked and how it felt once I added moisturizer.
This is also afterward but in natural light. I go without face make up pretty often if I can get away with it, and I felt really good about letting my skin breathe today.
The Verdict
I am extremely pleased with my purchase, and I felt like reviews on Sephora were accurately positive. Yes, the one drawback is the price, but a little goes a long way with the stuff. You could have it for a while and use it once-twice per week. It also claims to be an excellent spot treatment, so it does double-duty. Look out for samples. Sometimes Sephora has a smaller jar for a fraction of the price so that you can try it out before making the larger commitment.
