Our Home (with a side of baby)

Lucas and I moved into our house in East Memphis in early December. Thank goodness he has great ideas for furniture and is handy about building things because our house very quickly began to feel like a home with our personalities everywhere. I admit that I have color-phobia when it comes to home decor. That's why most things are black, white, gray or brown.

Because I was 20-weeks pregnant at the time, I knew that some things were going to be surrendered to Eila. I was weary about the fact that our bedding is white, but so far it has remained unscathed. Where you really notice it is ...well, everywhere. Every room has some small reminder that a baby inhabits this house. The good news is that I am not at all Type-A about that stuff. I pick up each morning, but there's baby laundry constantly on top of the washer. There's both clean and unclean baby bottles all over the kitchen and sometimes where I left them (on a book case, on my nightstand, on the coffee table). Burp cloths often drape on our chairs and we now have more baby blankets than our own throws.

But that, my friends, is the life I signed up for. I ask you: what good is a home if you can't live in it?
