World Wide Wednesday

World Wide Wednesday

{What I Have Been Watching}

Blame it on fits of nostalgia if you wish, but in the same week MTV Classic became a channel, The Hills had a 10-year reunion special. I have gotten to relive a couple of decades this week. That is the perfect distraction from the fact that we have another month of absurdly hot weather. Anyhow, from Daria to Kristin and Brody's love relationship, I am reminded of just how dramatic shows can be and just how stretched we can make the label "reality." Lauren Conrad still seems as down-to-Earth as ever. I know I still follow her career as well as Whitney Port's. What can I say, I also loved The
City...cue my fascination with Olivia Palermo and her snobby voice.

Oh, then there's the Bachelorette...I am caught up, but I don't want to spoil it for those of you who are tardy to the party.

{What I've Been Wearing}

It was tax-free weekend here in Memphis this past weekend. I knew I had to do some shopping on Saturday, so I drove to J.Crew and Madewell (hello basics). I am in dire need of work shirts. We are business casual, so work shirts can actual be a broad array of things. I left the day with four shirts.

These are the four shirts, but a couple of the J.Crew ones I bought are actually blue and blue stripe.

{What We are Trying}

Hello Fresh. I know, I know. We are late to the party ourselves with this one. I signed up for HelloFresh for a couple of reasons. First, I heard from people who use it and like it. Second, I want to see if we save money by paying $69 per week on this service versus our restaurant bills. Third, I detest going to the grocery store. I must try the Kroger pick-up service and soon. Some people can zen out while they grocery shop. Not I. I don't like crowds. I don't like trying to plan our meals as I shop. No. You can have my Martha Stewart card now...

Oh wait. I never had it.

I am also excited about Sheryl Sandberg's new book. See here. Also, this article mentions Pumpkin Spice Lattes. I feel like I have this rant every-single-Fall. I skip right over Pumpkin Spice Lattes in favor of Peppermint Mochas. Why? Why would I dare rush Fall in favor of a Wintery treat? Because the Wintery treat has a sugar-free variety! Pumpkin Spice Lattes, at least the ones with which I am familiar, are sugar nightmares. As are Chai Tea Lattes. All the sad face emojis.

Let's hope I don't have to make my own Pumpkin lattes on the stove this year.
